A few months ago, a girl I work with began sharing with a few of us about some new skincare and makeup products she had been using and had fallen in love with. So much so that she decided to become a rep for the company and start selling the products. And can I just say that I love that we live in a generation that allows us to believe in something and take that belief and watch it benefit us!? I love this new age of independent sellers — whether it is for a workout plan or a clothing line or makeup or lunch boxes — I just love that companies are empowering people, especially moms, to get behind a brand they love and make a little profit off of it!
Anyway, I digress. The company Kelly has become a part of is Beautycounter. Many of you have probably heard about it — but, you guys, have you tried it!? Because you need to! Before I get into what we loved about it I want to share with you what Kelly said about why she loved the company and got involved. This is what she had to say:
“At first I liked how the products performed and then as I learned more I fell in love with the company and their mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. I was always concerned about the safety of my daughter’s products, but never realized the lack of regulation in the US regarding my own personal care products. Knowing what I know now, it’s important for me to share this information with my family and friends. It’s amazing to be able to work for a company that offers safe alternatives that are high performing; as well as a company that is actively involved in the push for Congress to pass stricter laws regulating our beauty industry.”
Ok I just love that. Here’s a little article about the company if you’d like to know more, too. And another one about how they’re trying to get congress on board with their mission. I love that there’s a company who, as she said, doesn’t just want the best, safest, most organic products for kids, but for everyone else, too. SO, Kelly suggested some of her favorite products to Megan and I and we decided to give them a try.
First up was their Nourishing line. The line includes nourishing cream cleanser, nourishing cream exfoliator, nourishing rosewater mist, nourishing day cream, nourishing night cream, nourishing eye cream. For me, I liked this stuff a lot. I felt like my face could actually breathe after I would use it. It’s not irritating, doesn’t have any weird smells, and I could actually feel a difference. Before I tried this, I wasn’t really using anything special to wash and nourish my face and my skin. I would just use my normal body wash and scrub my face down with it, and while it did the job, this stuff actually feels like you’re doing something GOOD for your skin. Overall I really liked it and I would absolutely recommend it.
Second, we tried their cleansing balm. HELLO MAGIC GOODNESS. Kelly kept telling me how amazing this stuff was and I kept forgetting to try it and then when I did — oh sweet Lord, it was amazing. First of all it basically washes your face for you and takes off your makeup and any other nasty oily yuckiness left on your skin after a long day. THEN you rub your hands on your face and you guys — it is SO soft. Again, you can actually feel this product doing good on your face. I highly, highly recommend this one!
Third, we tried the purifying charcoal mask. Also magic goodness! I LOOOOOVED this one!! Honestly this was probably my favorite product. You put it on and almost instantly you can see it actually working on your face. All those pretty patches of deep blemishes start showing up and you’re like, wow, this is actually pulling the nasty out of my pores. It’s magical. And it’s literally like a 10 minute facial. If there was one product that made my skin feel breathable after using it, it was this one. I seriously loved it. And to be honest, I’m not a big mask girl, but I literally want to use this like ALL the time. HIGHLY, highly recommend this one!
I really was super happy with the products we tried and I cannot say enough how much I loved that I could actually feel the difference in my skin. Not to mention, it’s kind of scary all the stuff that is allowed in beauty products in our country, so to find a company who is intentional about the health of their consumers is huge! I have my eye on some of their lip products right now, so I’m anxious to try them out and see how much I love them!
AND Because we loved what we tried, we are going to do a raffle for anyone who makes a purchase through this link to win a free nourishing exfoliator! (BUT you MUST order through the link provided so Kelly can track who ordered from this post!)
If you’ve ever used any Beautycounter products that you loved, we’d love to hear about it! Tell us your favorites! And if not, we hope you’ll treat yourself to something that is not only fun, but also GOOD for you! You deserve to put good things into and onto your body.
Treat yo’selves, girls!
