DIY Tassel Necklace

Ok — so tassel necklaces are SUPER in right now and we are totally loving them. But they are all so simple looking so we decided we’d take a stab at making one for ourselves before buying one — and it was totally worth it! These little necklaces took us less than $20 and less than an hour to make and really are the cutest, most dainty little addition to any outfit!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Clear necklace string
  • Beads (colors of your choice)
  • String for tassel (color of your choice)

Here’s how you make it:

Cut your string to desired length. We each liked a longer necklace but it’s totally personal preference. Add your beads however you prefer — get creative! Mix patterns and colors to make your necklace pop. When finished, make your tassel and tie onto your necklace. (We used a little cheat sheet like this one to make our tassels!) Finish by knotting your necklace! SO simple and so cute!

We would love to see pictures if you decide to make one or two or a bunch of these! We also think they would be an awesome DIY Christmas gift to give to your favorite ladies this year!

ALSO for what it’s worth — we took a bunch of pictures of these and just could not find one that we felt ACTUALLY did the necklaces justice! So if you’re on the fence about whether or not to make one — we say do it! They are SO cute in person!

Happy jewelry making, friends!
