Today we’re going behind the scenes of Avenue 126! We thought it might be fun to share with you the space that we use to create and shoot our posts!
When Mel moved into her place, she used the guest room as a storage room essentially..so after about 2 years and with
a loooot of prompting from Megan and our friend Emily, we cleaned the entire room and painted it. Melissa envisioned a looong white desk (think Pottery Barn but cheaper of course) and couldn’t find one, so she settled on 2 little white ones from good ole WalMart. True story. What’s so special about this is that shortly after the room remodel, the Lord birthed the idea of Avenue 126 inside of us! He’s so good like that…because about 2 months later we started on this little blog journey, complete with a freshly remodeled office with not one but two desks…oozing with prettiness and ready to be used. Are you catching our drift here?! Jesus just knew and He had our work space ready for us!
We typically shoot all of our photos in here thanks to the gloriously big window that literally just pours the pretty natural light in on us. Really, this is where all the so-called magic happens. We shoot in here, edit in here, write in here, and ultimately post in here. The decor is kind of just reflective of things that inspire us — scripture and lyric prints, gold anything, glitter, and fresh flowers. Most of it was either made by us, or picked up randomly at TJ Maxx/Home Goods. We’ve linked to some exact and some similarly styled pieces below.
